A Note from Martha
On Wednesday, January 19th, I was sworn in for another term as the Commonwealth’s Attorney General. The ceremony took place at the Perkins School for the Blind - an institution which has been a great partner for us in our efforts to achieve fairness and opportunity for all our residents. We’re glad for the opportunity to highlight their inspiring work.
I am proud of what we've accomplished together over the past four years, and I’m so grateful for your support along the way. Our efforts on behalf of consumers, taxpayers, and public safety make a difference to this Commonwealth every day, and a second term brings new challenges and a renewed commitment to this important work.
In another term, we will continue to work to ensure the integrity of our financial institutions and to hold banks and lenders accountable for their actions. We’ll work to address abuses of power in government and tackle fraud and corruption. We’ll address the public safety crisis and help ensure police and fire departments have the proper resources and training to keep us safe. We will seek to end human trafficking for sex and labor in our state. And, we’ll continue to defend the civil rights of all our residents, working to ensure equality for all.
I’m grateful for the privilege to serve as your Attorney General. Thank you again for your support and friendship.
We'll keep this site updated periodically, and you can always check in on our work or learn more about the Attorney General's Office at www.mass.gov/ago.
With best wishes,

Martha Coakley

We Did It - Thank You
We did it!
Thank you to the thousands of volunteers across this state who have stood with us during this campaign, and thank you to the people of Massachusetts for placing your trust in me to continue to serve as your Attorney General.
While this year certainly didn’t start the way that I had hoped, I believe that losing doesn’t mean you quit. You keep on working for the people and the things that you believe in. For me, that has meant continuing to work for victims of crime and fraud, making sure that consumers get a fair deal, and keeping our kids and communities safe.
In the Attorney General’s Office, we understand that every case that we bring is about the people that we help. We wake up every day to stand for people in the face of unfairness.
There is no question that we face difficult times right now, and that there will be great challenges ahead. And while tonight we can celebrate your hard work and success, we know that it is right back to work to build that better tomorrow.
Thank you again for the honor of continuing to serve as your Attorney General.
With gratitude,
Martha Coakley

A Message from Martha: Thank You
Dear friends,
Before the polls open tomorrow morning, I just want to take a moment to personally thank you for all you’ve done.
We have been out working for months – knocking on doors, talking with friends and neighbors, and making sure people understand the stakes of this election. Throughout it all, you have been a trusted friend, adviser, and supporter. I am so grateful that you have stood not simply with me, but also for the principles of fairness, justice, and equality that we work to achieve for Massachusetts residents.
But our work is not done.
In under 24 hours the polls will close. All of your efforts have brought us to this point, but we know that this is a volatile electorate and we must make our last push over these final hours to be successful. I’m asking you to make sure you get out and vote tomorrow, and urge your friends and neighbors to do the same.
After this election, there is an important job to do. Our Attorney General will have to hit the ground running to protect Massachusetts residents from threats in their neighborhoods and online, to stand up for taxpayers against waste and fraud, and to protect consumers and homeowners from unscrupulous corporations.
And I’m more ready than ever to continue leading those fights on your behalf.
Your commitment and hard work have brought us to this point. Thank you for all that you do, we are almost there, and let’s keep working hard to make sure we are successful tomorrow night.
With gratitude,
Martha Coakley

A Message from Martha: Quick Ways To Help Us Win
We are just seven short days from Election Day and there is so much at stake for all of us. I’m so proud of the record we’ve achieved at the Attorney General’s office, standing up for people against unfairness. October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month
Martha has a long record of standing up for victims, particularly for victims of domestic violence. Throughout her career, she has advocated for safe waiting spaces for victims at courthouses, and has developed and organized trainings statewide focused on raising awareness of the issues surrounding human trafficking and the commercial sexual exploitation of children. She has partnered with various charitable organizations, such as Dressed for Success, and domestic violence shelters, such as Voices Against Violence, to hold clothing and supply drives to help victims reclaim their lives and get back on their feet.
This week, Martha visited Melrose to take part in the 15th Annual Melrose Alliance Against Violence Vigil for domestic violence awareness. She was joined by State Representative Katherine Clark and many others, as they read the names of victims who were murdered at the hands of loved ones this year. View photos from the event.
Martha has been endorsed by a number of law enforcement officials and organizations in her re-election efforts, all who have called Martha the only one in the race who has prioritized victim support and public safety challenges such as cyber crime, senior safety, neighborhood safety, and child protection.
